XL is conducting employee focus groups at various locations across the country to understand how the benefit communications employees have received to date are meeting their needs.

As a manufacturer, many of its employees work in a more non-traditional setting and therefore do not have computer access at work. With the increase of online tools and social media sites like Facebook, the company wants to get a better understanding of how employees prefer to receive information outside of work and whether they readily have computer access at home.

If so, the company could develop a more robust communications strategy that would allow them to deliver benefits information on a more frequent basis and in a more cost-effective, “greener” vs. the more traditional (paper-based) methods that have been used to date.
