Position: Health & Group Benefits Analyst

Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates payroll and eligibility related benefit issues acting as main liaison between third party administrators, benefits outsourcer, Stanley Payroll Transaction Center, direct billing/COBRA administrator and carriers (as applicable).
- Responsible for processing changes and retroactive payroll adjustments as indicated from benefit outsourcer payroll file. Ability to partner with Payroll Transaction Center to resolve health and group benefit employee indicative data and payroll deduction problems. Assists with year-end Health & Group benefits payroll process including deduction shut-offs and reactivation of new deductions.
- Acts as liaison and responds to Tier 3 customer requests on escalated matters from benefits outsourcer(s), field HR, carrier reps and employees/retirees. Answer benefits questions and resolves problems via e-mail/phone. Researches and facilitates problem resolution.
- Provides data analytical support for compliance related issues including 5500’s, Summary Annual reports, CMS for Medicare Secondary Payor rules, Dependent Care FSA Discrimination Testing, FAS 106, VEBA plan audit, FMLA outsourced benefits administration and others as required.
- Works with HRIS, Payroll and benefits outsourcer to monitor error reports and implement system enhancements and changes required to support benefit plan revisions or the implementation of new plans or integration of acquisitions.
- Serves as subject matter expert on benefits and data files to outsourcer and other third party administrators.
- Provides open enrollment support including editing benefit communication materials, plan provisions/requirements, website testing, etc.
- Researches and resolves issues related to direct billing for retirees and leaves that can’t be handled by third party administrators. Coordinates monthly process with Mercer on any direct bill cancellations due to non-payment of premiums
- Verifies and confirms certain retiree life insurance amounts prior to claims being processed by outsourcer
- Prepares monthly general ledger premium and ASO fee report to code benefit costs to appropriate general ledger accounts.
Required Experience:
- 5 + years benefits analysis or payroll processing / analysis experience using an automated payroll system serving an organization of greater than 2,500 employees (experience including health / dental insurance, flexible-spending accounts, COBRA and paid time off programs including FMLA strongly preferred).
- Experience with ADP (or Ceridian) payroll is preferred
- Process improvement and documentation experience a strong plus.
- Report writing experience to run ad-hoc reports
